In the times of knights and castles, flying dragons were part of the folklore. As always, we need a helper to make it through the week and this year's helper is Sparky, a flying dragon.
There is only one problem. Sparky is not a fire breathing dragon! When Sparky catches a cold and sneezes, snow and ice go flying hence the “Knights of North Castle”. While it is easy to imagine snow and ice in February and March, it may not be so easy in August. So go get a handful of snow, and ask mom or dad if you can put it in the freezer to help you remember.
Teen Leaders Still Needed
Teen Leaders are needed to help make Appleby’s VBC a fun-filled experience for young children in East Burlington. The requirements to earn 24 hours of high school volunteer service are:

Knights of North Castle - Daily Themes
Paul, one of the famous followers of Jesus, used images of a Roman knight or soldier's armour to describe what we need to be a follower of Jesus (Ephesians 6: 10-20):
A Belt of Truth: We must learn to tell the truth. (Monday)
A Breastplate of Justice: We must do what is right. (Tuesday)
Shoes of Peace: We must be messengers of peace. (Wednesday)
A Shield of Faith: We must have faith in God’s goodness and love. (Thursday)
A Helmet of Salvation: We must learn to say we are sorry when we make mistakes to get back ‘on track’ with God’s love and fairness. (Friday)
Even though Paul used the image of a soldier's suit of armour to describe what was needed to walk in God’s ways, Paul did not believe in bullying. We are to work non-violently as we follow in the footsteps of Jesus to love and help others.
