Appleby Foodbank Drive (Most Needed Items)

With the rising cost of groceries, foodbank donations are more needed than ever.  Donations can made in a number of ways.  Regardless of which method you choose, please indicate clearly that it is for the Burlington food bank or OCC (Our Community Cares which supports south-east Burlington families.

Canned tomatoes

  • Juice boxes
  • Large Juice (1L tetra or cans)
  • Hot cereal (oatmeal/porridge single servings)
  • Boxes of cold cereal
  • Shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes
  • Sanitary products
  • Canned fruit and vegetables
  • Baked beans
  • Canned meat (ham, turkey, chicken, tuna, salmon)
  • Peanut butter
  • Rice

Grocery store gift cards can be purchased through FundScrip.

By e-Transfer 

If you bank online, you can set up Appleby United Church as a payee under the e-transfer facility provided by your bank system. Set up Appleby as a new payee using applebyoffice1@gmail.com as the email address to receive payments by auto-deposit so there is no need to provide a password.

By church envelopes

You can mail your envelope donations to Appleby Church  (cheques only) or bring to church.

CanadaHelps

Your donation will be used to purchase grocery store gift cards which will be given to Our Community Cares (OCC) and the Burlington Foodbank office.   Donating $52 dollars will purchase a $50 gift card.  Donating $26 will purchase a $25 gift card.  CanadaHelps charges 4% on all credit card donations for processing and they will email you an income tax receipt directly .
