Messy Church

Messy Church takes place the first Friday of each month.  EVERYONE is welcome!

Messy Church is a Christ-centred, all-age way of being church that welcomes everyone—kids, parents, grandparents, neighbours—whether or not Sunday morning worship fits their lives. It blends hospitality, creativity, and celebration: we hare a simple meal, explore a Bible theme with hands-on activities and crafts, then gather for a short time of story, prayer, and song. It usually meets once a month (not on Sunday morning), and you can absolutely “come as you are.”
Messy Church began in England in 2004 with Lucy Moore as a fresh invitation to families who weren’t connecting with traditional church life. It arrived in Canada in 2007 and now runs across many denominations and communities.

Why the name “Messy”?
People sometimes wonder about the word. “Messy”. It doesn’t mean careless or chaotic; it’s a friendly nod to two realities:
Creativity is messy—paint, glue, questions, and laughter are part of learning together.
Life is messy—God meets us as we truly are, not after we’ve tidied up our lives or our faith.
The name is a promise: there’s room for real life here.

Watch for dates, bring a friend or a grandchild, and enjoy the warmth of community, creativity, and Christ’s welcome.

Messy Church takes place on the first Friday of the month from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the church.
